Nikita is a British artist based in Birmingham working with a variety of processes and mediums such as textiles, sculpture and photography. Her most recent work focuses on the issues of donor conception, primarily anonymous sperm donation and the psychological impact this has on the individuals conceived. Being donor conceived herself, she is educated on the subject and aims to enlighten viewers, giving them access to her thoughts and feelings regarding this method of conception and the effect it has had on her identity during adolescence.

Using personal experience as inspiration, her work consists of a narrative, giving the viewers an insight into her life whilst reflecting on their own. She hand embroiders to express the intimate nature of her work, which also acts as a way of therapeutically releasing her emotions. Casting is another process the artist engages with to manipulate materials and alter the purpose of objects. Having been involved in multiple collaborative projects from different creative faculties, she recognises the importance of artist collaboration. Nikita's other areas of interest are psychoanalysis, dreams, genetics, the female body and motherhood.
